Position Summary:

Under the direction of VP of Litigation and working closely with the Risk Management Investigator,

this role partners with shipboard management and Global Security on assessing/ preparing / preserving for potential future litigation. This can include directing and/or ensuring the collection of witness statements as well the preservation of all relevant evidence including CCTV footage. Assist crew and guest claims and litigation teams with investigative requests including incident and/or claimant research, on-line research, surveillance, and other investigative and litigation support/ preparation activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist Risk Management investigator conducting investigations for accidents, incidents, instances of non-compliance
  • Ensure that incident-related documentation and evidence is compiled such that all factual information recorded is accurate and complete and relevant evidence is safely secured.
  • Assist gathering raw data and evidence, data analysis, and on-line data and evidence searches
  • Review incidents level reporting and identify potential claim cases within.
  • Assist litigation attorneys and / or claims adjusters in terms of general litigation preparation and Discovery.
  • Perform other investigative and analytical duties as assigned by the Senior Investigator.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:
  • 1-3 years of investigative work experience.
  • Experience in investigations involving various types of personal injury, property damage, fire, security, fraud, or litigation cases.
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Civil and/or criminal litigation support experience
  • Wicklander - Zulawski interview skills
  • Investigative case management skills with experience in managing complex investigations from inception to completion.
  • Analytical, statistical reporting, and research skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and matters.
  • Ability to work independently, be a self-starter, and make decisions with the judgment to know when to seek guidance.
  • Ability to work within office hours and outside office hours to accommodate a 24/7 operation and its business needs
  • Ability to recognize and evaluate facts and objectively analyze situations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Written and verbal communications skills.
  • Skill in writing technical reports.
  • Ability to write concise and factual investigative reports.
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of on-line Open Source and proprietary intelligence research databases.
  • Bilingual (second language) skills.
