AppOps Engineer (Azure)

As an AppOps Engineer, you will be a core member of the AppOps team managing 3rd party applications and versions, applications that run on Kubernetes (AKS), engineering tooling and a self service portal on an Azure infrastructure for multiple PODS/Teams. In this role, you will manage, maintain, optimize all elements of applications and will be responsible for managing 3rd party application security and performance.

This is a hybrid position based out of Toronto.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include:

  • Hands-on working experience in Azure and Private Cloud
  • Hands-on experience with day to day Linux (Ubuntu, RedHat or CentOS) administration and troubleshooting 
  • Strong understanding of Azure Platform Apps, Web Applications, Function Apps, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, ElasticSearch, Service, Open AI and Azure AI
  • Strong understanding of WAF, VPC, Firewalls, Application Gateway, Load balancers and Front Door
  • Strong understanding of Azure private DNS zones, API Management and Azure Networking with knowledge of platform components
  • Deep knowledge in Cloud Adaptation Framework
  • Understanding of the application footprint on Kubernetes (AKS) and the ability to create repeatable processes and workflows
  • Experience managing tools like SonarQube, BitBucket and Datadog
  • Managing application versions and its security
  • Experience with DevOps toolsets like Azure DevOps, Terraform, ARM Templates and Biceps
  • Experience with Docker containerization
  • Hands-on full-stack application implementation
  • Excellent understanding of legacy and cloud-ready application architecture
  • Thorough understanding of the application landscape and services to be adopted/used on the cloud
  • Experience with legacy application transformation, deployment and management to the cloud
  • Manage service management and reliability SLA’s
  • Continuously optimize infrastructure for efficiency and value
  • Build, manage and maintain a self service portal

 Minimum Technical Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years + hands-on experience on Azure cloud services
  • 4-5 years + hands-on experience managing engineering tools
  • 2-4 years of hands-on experience performing Linux administration and troubleshooting 
  • 4-5 years + hands-on experience with Terraform, ARM, PowerShell, Bash/Python, Linux, infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Azure AI
  • 3+ years of automation and managing application stacks and its versions
  • 2 years of experience managing and maintaining an engineering self service portal
  • Highly motivated, detailed and technical resource with the ability to work independently
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging capabilities in an Agile software development team environment
  • Proven track record of exhibiting a combination of functional, conceptual and technical knowledge to offer creative solutions

  • Azure Solutions Architecture Expert
  • Azure Security Engineer – Associate
