Assoc Business Systems Analyst
Assists in formulating and defining systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with a basic understanding of business systems and industry requirements. Analyzes business and user needs and documents requirements.
Essential Functions
- Gathers and writes requirements and design specifications for basic systems.
- Verifies requirements and design comply with industry regulations and SOPs/WPDs.
- Works with developers, QA testers, validation team members and managers to create and analyze project documentation.
- Stays abreast with the latest developments in related technologies and shares knowledge with team members.
- Trains on new technologies and tools that are related to job duties.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 2 years') or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.
Experience:
Years of experience refers to typical years of related experience needed to gain the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Years of experience are not to be used as the only determining factor in establishing the job class or
making employment selection decisions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of system development life cycle and requirements methodology
- Basic understanding of requirement gathering methodologies and best practices, such as waterfall, Agile, Spiral, JAD sessions, etc.
- Basic understanding of different requirement types such as Business, User, Functional, and nonfunctional
- Basic MS Office skills
- Business skills including the following: documentation, presentation, interpersonal, and communication
- Basic problem solving and analytical skills
- Planning and organizational skills
- Ability to interact with relational databases at a basic level
