The Research Business Partner will play a pivotal role in bridging Information Systems (IS) and Research Functions within our organization. This position is responsible for managing IS projects and operations / support for the Research function. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both the technical and operational aspects of research systems, collaborate closely with researchers, scientists, clinicians to understand their technology needs. Being a strategic thought partner to our business, you will develop technology roadmaps while enabling and optimizing processes, data management, and scientific collaboration through the effective use of technology.

What will you do?

  • Establish and maintain active partnerships with relevant business stakeholders while gaining comprehensive understanding of business areas, the systems utilized, and the flow of data within the organization. 
  • Ensure efficient project management and stable operations/ support with proactive monitoring
  • Collaborate with the research department to proactively identify and address upcoming technology needs, creating and maintaining a technology roadmap to align business and technology strategies.
  • Support and maintain both internal and commercial research software systems, applying security and feature updates in line with company policies.
  • Ensure the documentation, protection, and integrity of data assets and databases through proper backups, redundancy, and security measures.
  • Lead the configuration of internal and commercial software systems to integrate new data sources as required.
  • Work closely with Lab operations to coordinate equipment needs and vendor visits, ensuring smooth operation and maintenance of research facilities.
  • Monitor the availability of research systems, taking proactive steps to identify and address the root causes of common issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between the research department and other business functions to ensure alignment of technology initiatives with overall organizational goals

 

What minimum qualifications do we require?

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in information systems roles
  • 3+ years supporting Research Systems and Technology within Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industries

  •  A solid understanding of business principles and operations, particularly within the context of research and development. Ability to align technology solutions with strategic business objectives
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, including the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams, drive change, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and departments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including researchers, scientists, clinicians, and business leaders
  • Ability to lead and manage technology projects, from identifying needs to implementing solutions.
