Description
The Business Lines Rating Tools team is seeking an experienced software engineer or Machine Learning Ops engineer to join a dynamic and growing team. In this position, you will work on highly complex technical projects and drive forward solutions to improve the speed, accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration across Product Delivery.

You will be a key player enabling Liberty to achieve our profitable growth aspirations, driving highly visible and critically important projects to support new and renewal products. While your work will primarily focus on architecting and developing technical solutions for Business Lines product launches, you may also lead process improvement initiatives where your efforts will improve the day-to-day operations within Product Delivery. In this position, you will use data, Python, and AWS to build cutting-edge analytics tools for launching new products to market quickly and accurately. You will also develop and leverage product knowledge and communication skills as you build flexible and innovative tool solutions, contributing to a best-in-class data science organization.

This is a Grade 16-17 range posting and will be determined by the Hiring Manager based on individual experience level

Depending on candidate location there could be in office requirements

Responsibilities:
  • Build and deploy best-in-class applications, processes, and ML models into production. Establishes controls around data quality, governance, and tool accuracy.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations on product design (block diagramming, working with APIs, completing software requirement analysis)
  • Architect and develop software solutions as a key contributor within an Agile team with an emphasis on ongoing code quality & process improvements (performance analysis, code optimization, troubleshooting/debugging application errors, unit/load testing)
  • Perform application monitoring and troubleshooting of application errors
  • Deploying ML models into production environments.
  • Collaborate with Design and Modeling partners, the Data Office, and other key stakeholders to efficiently and accurately build out analytics tools.
  • Contribute to the underlying analysis of critical projects enabling profitable growth in our US business lines.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on the appropriate tools and techniques to perform analysis.
  • Serve as a team member and may lead medium-term and/or moderate-complexity projects.
  • Serve as ad hoc resource and mentor for less experienced analysts.
  • May conduct analysis to evaluate and implement vendor products.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, or another Object-oriented programming language.
  • Experienced in AWS or another cloud computing platform.
  • Familiar with Git and CI/CD
  • Some Exposure to docker, Kubernetes, MLFlow and Airflow.
  • Familiarity with React, or angular is a plus but not required
  • MLOps experience is a plus
  • Experience with Liberty IT systems (Runway, eCLIQ, DataLake, Cortex) or commercial lines a plus but not required.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree or equivalent in mathematics, economics, statistics, or other quantitative field
  • Minimum 6 years relevant work experience, typically 8 years
  • PhD or equivalent research beneficial
  • Expert skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (e g , SAS, Emblem)
  • Must have exceptional planning, analytical, decision making, communication, and project management skills
  • Experience managing projects preferred
