Interior Design Lead (New York City)

About the role

The Interior Design Lead will provide leadership within a design team in a self-directed manner in multiple aspects of the design process including but not limited to the design & documentation of all phases, the preparation of materials, and construction administration activities within established budgets, schedules, and programmatic requirements. The Project Designer will lead aspects of or entire projects (depending on Scope of project) and liaise directly with clientele and consultants.

What you'll do

  • Leads project team through design and delivery process, including comprehension of scope deliverables and partners with project management and technical leads on a variety of projects
  • Lead client, contractor, and consultant coordination
  • Manage workflow and production of deliverables
  • Lead programming, space planning, and design activities
  • Research, recommend and select appropriate finishes, fixtures, and furniture
  • Clearly communicate design concepts and conduct client presentations in a variety of formats
  • Utilize BIM technology in development of 3-dimensional models, documentation, and coordination
  • Prepare and or/coordinate project design documentation
  • Lead construction document coordination, review and quality assurance including coordination with consultants, contractors, and other trades
  • Participate in construction administration, including review of RFIs, submittals, and site visits to ensure accuracy
  • Prepare workflow for junior team members and identify development opportunities

What you'll need

  • NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
  • Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
  • Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to tackle problems in standard situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is $100,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $110,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
