Description and Requirements
The Legal Contracting Specialist supports the Legal Department's review of contracts and amendments submitted by various departments across the organization including, but not limited to: Delivery System Engagement (DSE), Care Management Organization (CMO), Facilities, Procurement, and Information Technology (IT). The Legal Contracting Specialist assists the Legal Department's attorneys in the drafting, review and revision of Provider, Management, and Vendor contracts and amendments. This position is also responsible for the tracking of new and existing health care provider and management agreements that require regulatory approval. In addition, the Legal Contracting Specialist prepares monthly reports and assists with departmental projects and initiatives.

This is a HYBRID position with expectation to report to our NY office approximately 1-2 times per week.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for initial drafting, reviewing and revisions of Provider, Management, and Vendor contracts and amendments, and ensures adherence to applicable company requirements, policies and procedures.
- Track new and existing health care provider and management agreements that require regulatory approval.
- Draft, review, and track Provider contract termination notices.
- Develop and implement contract review process efficiencies.
- Serve as departmental point person for, the implementation of, contract management tool.
- Provide guidance and assistance to resolve operational problems as they pertain to the contracting process as well as provider and vendor contracts.
- Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with internal departments as well as vendors to ensure adherence to applicable company requirements, policies and procedures related to contracting.
- Liaison with key business unit stakeholders and Legal to ensure communication and reporting of issues.
- Assist with internal training programs relating to contracting.
- Provide administrative and project management support to special projects across the department.
- Create issue logs and tracking spreadsheets.
- Obtain and process certificates of insurance with broker, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- In-depth knowledge of contract agreements.
- Excellent oral & communication skills.
- Must have professional writing skills to include the following: emails, letters, policies, and job aids.
- Ability to take initiative and follow through with work process from beginning to end.
- Team player who is organized and detail oriented.
Preferred Qualifications;
- Administrative experience working for a health insurance plan, hospital, provider practice, managed care company, or related health care organization is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience with contract management systems (ICertis).
Hiring Range:
- Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $65,600 - $94,775
- All Other Locations (within approved locations): $58,300 - $86,700
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
