As a Network Engineer, you will be directly responsible for the Sonepar network infrastructure in monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with data circuits, wireless networks, and branch locations. This will include network migrations, datacenter upgrades/moves, optimization, load balancing solutions as well as troubleshooting. This position is required to troubleshoot and support a Cisco/Meraki network utilizing SD-WAN, DMVPN, BGP, and EIGRP. New branch setups to allow a location to go-live and participation in network conversions is a large part of the role. This position will also require knowledge of auxiliary network support functions including but not limited to DHCP, DNS, and network management tools.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on familiarity with Cisco/Meraki networking equipment and software
  • Familiarity with network automation and scripting, python / ansible
  • Familiarity with wireless concepts, troubleshooting, and configuration
  • Experience supporting Cisco designs and solutions for enterprise networks.
  • Knowledge of network management systems
  • Familiarity with a wide range of WAN/LAN Network Topologies (Ethernet, WAN, and Wireless)
  • Working knowledge of TELCO technologies (T-1, MPLS, Frame-relay, DIA, broadband, LTE)
  • Knowledge of IP networking concepts (NAT, TCP/IP, Multicast, etc.)
  • Knowledge in troubleshooting Layer 2 switching technologies (STP, VLANs, VPC, EtherChannel)
  • Knowledge in configuring troubleshooting Routing Protocols (EIGRP/BGP)
  • Working knowledge of IT security concepts.
  • Experience with using network design documents and presentations (PowerPoint and Visio)
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of telecommunications or computer science and/or
  • 4 - 6 years equivalent work experience.
  • CCNA/CCNP, Meraki certification desired
