PRINCIPAL SALES ENGINEER

Sydney, Australia

Reporting to the Director of Sales Engineering, the Principal Sales Engineer is responsible for expanding the sales organization, guiding customers through their Cofense experience, and providing technical assistance to the direct and channel sales teams.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance, instruction, direction and leadership to the Sales Engineering team within their assigned region(s)
  • Works with the Director of Sales Engineering, providing input on essential items needed to further success within the region from a sales engineering perspective
  • Communicates with internal teams including Product Management regarding regional feedback to enhance our products
  • Supports sales operations in the designated territory, working closely with the direct sales team as well as partner sales and engineering staff in the region
  • Presents from a technical perspective the entire Cofense Suite of products
  • Manages trials/POCs with multiple clients
  • Completes RFPs, security questionnaires, and other technical documentation as needed during the sales process
  • Has relationships with technical staff in information security departments across a variety of industries
  • Is focused, detail oriented, and able to document activities in the appropriate Sales Engineering tools
  • Notwithstanding any of your job duties and/or other requirements of your employment, you do not have any authority, and you are not being asked to, make any decisions on behalf of Cofense Inc. relating to negotiating, setting the price and terms of any proposal or sale of Cofense Inc.'s products and services to its customers or potential customers. All decisions relating to a proposal to sell or the sale of Cofense Inc.'s products and services shall be made solely by the management of Cofense Inc. located in the United States

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with the capability to present technical information and build rapport with a variety of audiences including line technicians to C-Level Executives
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy in a high paced geographically dispersed organization
  • Network communication troubleshooting experience with strong TCP/IP skills, familiarity with SMTP, IMAP, HTTP, and other Internet protocols
  • Understanding of laws and regulatory requirements driving customer IT security programs
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Strong ability to effectively document complex Sales Engineering tasks; teach and mentor
  • Capable of managing multiple high priority tasks to successful completion
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50%

Education and/or Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in sales engineering
  • 4 Year Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree preferred
  • CISSP or SANS Certification preferred
  • Experienced in troubleshooting solutions deployed in enterprise networks, understanding of proxies, LDAP/ Active Directory, e-mail infrastructure and other related technologies
  • Experience with virtual machine environments
  • Experience with Cloud environments (Amazon, Azure)
  • Experience with SIEM and/or Threat Intelligence platforms.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching individuals for high performance
  • Hands-on experience in providing information security services such as assessments, penetration tests, Security Operations Center
  • Hands-on experience in penetration and social engineering testing, and analysis
  • Experience creating and managing YARA rule sets
  • Hands-on experience in incident response and computer forensics
  • Experience as a presenter on information security topics at conferences and events
