We are offering a position as a Secondary Engineering at Hitachi Energy, Grid Integration business. This role can be located anywhere in Sweden (remote working, #LI-Remote), depending on the experience of the selected candidate. The preferred location, however, is in Västerås (SE), where we have the team and an office.
The business unit designs and delivers complete substations for distribution and transmission grids. We are offering an interesting position in an international project environment and various development possibilities in the areas of design and engineering, research, and development.
Since the work is conducted in projects, with every case being unique, your role will be very varying, such as responsibility for all activities related to system and secondary design, which includes everything from design to final delivery. Examples of daily activities are developing design drawings, generating basic documents for construction, performing engineering calculations and commissioning. At Hitachi Energy, you will have the opportunity to test your designer skills in various types of projects, both in Sweden and abroad.

Your responsibilities
- Prepare and review substation documentations, for example, single line diagram, protection diagrams, interlocking diagrams, AC and DC drawings, calculations, control and protection panel drawings, IED configurations, cabling and bills of materials.
- Provide technical evaluation of supplier proposals and accepts as fit for purpose supplied equipment or services.
- Provide technical support during pre-FAT and FAT stage, handling installation and commissioning activities. Prepare project documentation within one's scope of deliverables.
- Participate in testing and commissioning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project manager, design (Lead, Primary, Civil and commissioning), planner, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure seamless project integration and successful outcomes in international project environment.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, fostering innovation, and encouraging employee involvement in problem-solving and process enhancement.

Your background
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical engineering.
- Fluent spoken and written English. Other language skills (e.g., Swedish, Finnish and Danish) are considered as an advantage.
- Proactive, result-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills as well as reliability and ability to work under pressure.
- Willing to enter into international projects.
- Travel is required; up to 20% both domestic and international.
- Previous experience of engineering work related to High and Medium voltage substations is considered as an advantage.
- Experience in design software such as Elmaster, E3, AutoCAD, PCM600 is considered as an advantage.
- Knowledge of substation control and protection systems is considered as an advantage.
