Senior Associate, Copywriting

The Total Rewards Marketing & Associate Experience team is seeking a Senior Associate, Copywriting. Benefits and Compensation play a critical role in helping us achieve our mission of delivering Total Rewards that attract the best people to join and stay with Capital One and empower them to live their best lives. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and work closely with peers and the Total Rewards Team to create on-brand communications and marketing materials that drive associate engagement with, and understanding of, our benefits and compensation programs.

  • Writing engaging, on-brand associate-facing communications across various channels to help Capital One associates understand and make the most of their Total Rewards products and offerings, including emails, print and digital marketing materials, as well as content on our intranet and other digital communication platforms that support Total Rewards.
  • Partnering with Total Rewards product owners to collect appropriate data and program information for Capital One award submissions.
  • Editing and refining both written and visual communications to ensure a consistent look, feel and tone across all Total Rewards communications.
  • Working effectively across multiple partner teams and with stakeholders to gain appropriate input, review and sign-offs.
  • Reviewing marketing materials from vendors to ensure brand consistency.
  • Light measuring of performance of communications based on key metrics.
  • Delivering communications through our internal channels and monitoring the results.
  • Serving as an active member of the HR brand/communications community.

  • A strong writer and storyteller with the ability to translate complicated subject matter into a compelling narrative, while being able to write within an established voice.
  • Energized by using data and associate insights research to influence communications, finding ways to improve associate understanding of, and engagement with, our benefits and compensation programs.
  • Comfortable with digital channels and eager to learn about different techniques and tools to connect with a variety of audiences
  • Detail-oriented and can manage multiple communications projects, and ensure delivery across multiple partner groups
  • A collaborator, who enjoys iterating with a fast-paced cross-functional team and has strong skills in consensus building, influencing, and teamwork.
  • Someone who takes initiative, isn't afraid to fail, asks thoughtful questions, and constantly seeks better ways of working and communicating.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in marketing or advertising communications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's in Communications or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience with Google Suite, email marketing platforms (Vessel or LumApps intranet)
  • At least 2 years of experience in a communications role within Capital One or another Fortune 500 company
