Will develop subject-matter-expertise surrounding customer- and other payee-facing legal requirements for information reporting and withholding as they apply to Discover products. Seeking a compliance-minded individual that is comfortable reading regulations and who is able, or willing to learn how to convert legal tax requirements into operational requirements. Will also be responsible for supporting the Tax Department team with managing department requirements and controls in support of the Discover enterprise product operations programs and overall Tax Department needs.

Responsibilities
- Recognizes and documents changes in statute, regulations or guidance for communication to business teams.
- Reviews and recommends operational tax-related enhancements to business team procedures, policies and training materials.
- Supports business initiatives to provide new or enhanced products/activities to Discover customers by communicating the tax implications and requirements of those products or activities.
- Reviews language in customer/payee-facing communications to ensure language is tax-appropriate.
- Uses research tools to explore issues posed by business teams and formulates responses as guidance to those requests.
- Facilitates and performs activities required by the Compliance Management System (CMS) for Corporate Tax.
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here's what we need from you:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ years of experience in tax, finance, law, compliance, audit, risk management, or related field
- In lieu of education, 6+ years of experience in tax, law, finance, compliance, audit, risk management, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
If we had our say, we'd also look for:
- 4+ years of experience in Compliance, audit, law, paralegal, risk management, or related field
- Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $65,000.00 to $109,800.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
