Software Engineer I

Our Opportunity:

We are looking for a Software Engineer I at our facility in Boston, MA, to design, develop and implement large scale distributed systems with large volumes of data focusing on scalability, latency and fault tolerance.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Develop Systems / Component architectures and APIs for a growing platform.
  • Ensure successful product delivery and operational excellence.
  • Forecast and mitigate challenges effectively.
  • Lead research and PoC initiatives for cloud native designs and implementation within public clouds, primarily AWS.
  • Conduct design/code reviews while raising the bar for all of engineering.
  • Debug critical hard to solve production issues across services and tech stack.
  • Continuously measure and optimize the performance, effectiveness, and uptime of services.
  • Build quality software with technical guidance to team.
  • Local telecommuting permitted.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and 3 years of software engineering experience with Spring/Spring Boot Java Framework.
  • Must have 2 years of experience in the following: Developing in a micro-service oriented environment; and
  • Working within the Agile project management framework.
  • Must have 1 year of experience in the following: API development or engineering at scale;
  • Working with distributing SCM (GitHub a plus), DevOps, AWS or equivalent;
  • Working across fully automated stacks in a CI/CD ecosystem;
  • Lightweight middleware technologies, integration patterns, microservices;
  • Working with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines;
  • Building applications using AWS services or equivalent; and
  • Building event Streams with No-SQL.
  • Local telecommuting permitted
